Show HN: Donut Browser, the most private anti-detect browser

3 points - today at 7:24 PM

Hi everyone!

About 2 years ago, I began to work on Donut Browser as a tool to manage browser profiles, which over time has evolved into a proper anti-detect browser.

Anti-detect browsers let you create browser profiles that look like as if you have a completely different computer. I believe Donut is the most private anti-detect browser because: - It has no telemetry and doesn't track your browsing activity - It spoofs your browser identity in a way that looks like a real device for every profile - It notifies you when a website takes a snapshot of your browser identity - It is built on top of Chromium and lets you block ads and trackers at the DNS level without relying on Manifest V2 - It lets you create unlimited profiles (the first anti-detect browser to do that) - It supports Linux, which not all anti-detect browsers do!

I use Donut as my main browser and the only other browser I have installed is Tor. If you are into privacy, it offers a lot better experience than Firefox containers or writing your own scripts to manage profiles!

If anyone is going to try it, would love to hear any feedback!

nice! maybe some tooltips over some of the paid features like cloud profile backups, im sure I know what that means but maybe not "cookie bot hours"

    either way really cool

Thank you! Cloud backups means you can sync the profiles to the cloud. Cookie bot hours mean that your profile will get launched in the cloud and a bot will go onto different websites to build your browser cookies, like opening a website that uses Google Tag Manager on schedule. Will think about the wording in the tooltips, thanks!
